Great value
21 August 2020I bought mine via their Ebay store some time ago after watching their YouTube channel. Some commented that it is useless and I disagree. For starters it is full tang, around 6mm thick, so pretty hefty. Where I think people knocked it is, they can not sharpen a Stainless Steel blade! They use it and over time losses its edge and they will say its useless, yeah any knife that is blunt is useless, but unless it is self sharpening (joke) you have to sharpen it your self, and that where most get stuck. If you own knives part of that collection you will need to learn how to keep them sharp, and you can buy good oil stones for under $100, watch a few Youtube videos and it is not that hard to learn to keep a blade sharp, even Stainless, carbon blades are way easier. The Rough Rider Bowie is a hefty knife, its big but feels lighter in the hand, the grip is good even with that coffin shape, sheath is nothing special but does its job, now it is probably made in Asia somewhere so if you look closer you will note some small flaws, but nothing that will stop it from cutting/slicing. I polished mine by wet sanding the blade and it looks great, it holds an edge really well and is easy enough to sharpen. For the money it is great value, but do yourself a favor, buy some quality sharpening stones, don't use some cheap kitchen pull through sharpener worth $5, and learn how to keep it sharp and it will serve you well! 4 out 5 stars
